Looking Down Yonge Street to Downtown, Toronto
A less ostentatious but no less grand visit can be had on the east side of town in the Distillery District, a once-prominent center for alcohol processing, and now a national heritage site containing the largest and best-preserved collection of Victorian industrial architecture in North America. Many buildings have been revamped as art galleries, restaurants, and coffeehouses, giving way to a lively pedestrian-friendly neighborhood for art lovers.
