Victor Elias’ cameras, which have taken him everywhere he’s “wanted to be, and beyond,” bring him now to Latitude Image. Owner of Victor Elias Photography, Victor has been specializing in architectural photography, showcasing hotels and resorts, for over 18 years.
Self-described as “audacious,” and someone who “loves taking chances and experimenting,” Victor’s professional career “happened by accident,” he says. After studying at the New York Institute for Photography and traveling through Canada perfecting his practice, “I started working with hotels and resorts, and they were requesting aerial images of their properties. The first time I did it, it was in Cancun, Mexico. I was strapped to a chair in the sky that was being pulled along by a boat.” On the off chance things took a turn for the worse in that parasailing venture, Victor did the shoot with a Nikonos V “just in case I landed in the water.” There were no mishaps, however; instead, Victor had his first professional aerial photography experience and was “hooked immediately.”
Since then, Victor has traveled extensively through Mexico, other parts of Central America, the Caribbean, the United States, Canada and Europe. As his collection with Latitude Image shows, Victor “love[s] photographing coastlines. The mix of land and water is incredible.” He has worked with some of the most important hotel chains worldwide and many local boutique hotels, and his work has been used in numerous successful advertising campaigns. Latitude Image is excited to welcome Victor to the photography team and, as Victor is “always looking forward to the next trip,” Latitude Image is looking forward to showcasing his growing collection to the public.
