Rainbow flags and Latitude Image partner HollandLuchtfoto have been flying high over the canals of Amsterdam this week for the world-renowned Gay Pride Festival!
Started in 1996, the annual Amsterdam Gay Pride summer celebration attracts over 350,000 gay and straight participants and over 150,000 spectators to the street parties, film festivals, sporting events, and the world famous canal parade which celebrates the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, and Transgender) community.
Bram van de Biezen of Hollandluchtfoto took to the air to capture the revelry of the canal parade which started in the town of Westerdok and traveled through the main canals of the city to Oosterdok. His vibrant photos showcase the merriment of the event whose theme this year was 'Reflect', a call to remember the beginnings of the LGBT movement and the importance of the continued attention to LGBT acceptance.
