Located 6 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA, famous summer haven Martha's Vineyard is accessible only by plane or boat. For aerial photographer Dave Cleaveland, whose office most days is a Robinson R-22 helicopter, this is not a problem.
Measuring roughly 100 square miles and made up of six very distinct towns, Martha's Vineyard is more than its nickname of “Hollywood East,” a moniker earned from the numerous celebrities (Meg Ryan, Jake Gyllenhaal, Presidents Kennedy, Clinton, and Obama, to name a few) who have retreated to the island sanctuary over the years, and whose privacy has been respected by residents. “It’s a great place to visit,” Dave confirms, “as the island has a little bit of everything.”
