Aquinnah, at the westernmost tip of Martha's Vineyard, is best known to visitors as home of the brightly colored Gay Head Cliffs and, atop them, the historic Gay Head Lighthouse, a favorite architectural piece for Dave. “I am drawn to [lighthouses],” he admits. “But I know that, in order to get a good shot, you have to shoot that lighthouse in a way that hasn’t been done before.” Dave capitalizes on natural lighting, the highlights and lowlights of the scene, to ‘paint’ his images. “It’s a wonderful experience shooting Martha’s Vineyard from the air.
